日本語面接との3つの違い

STAR法で回答を構造化する
英語面接の回答はSTAR法で構造化すると、論理的でわかりやすくなる。

- Task（課題）: I was tasked with improving customer retention…

- Result（結果）: As a result, retention rate increased by 25%.

Q1: Tell me about yourself.（自己紹介をしてください）
NG回答: “My name is Taro. I was born in Tokyo. I graduated from XX University…”
テンプレート:
“I’m a [職種] with [X years] of experience in [業界/分野]. In my current role at [会社名], I [主な業務/成果]. I’m particularly skilled at [強み], and I’m excited about this opportunity because [志望理由].”
回答例:
“I’m a marketing manager with 8 years of experience in B2B SaaS. At my current company, I’ve led a team of 5 and increased our inbound leads by 40% over the past year. I’m particularly skilled at content strategy and marketing automation. I’m excited about this role because your company is expanding into the Japanese market, and I believe my bilingual skills and SaaS marketing experience would be a great fit.”
ポイント: 2〜3文で簡潔に。「名前→出身→学歴」の日本式自己紹介はNG。「職種→経験年数→成果→強み→志望理由」の順で話す。
Q2: Why do you want to work here?（なぜ当社を志望しますか？）
テンプレート:
“I’ve been following [会社名]’s work in [分野], particularly [具体的なプロジェクト/製品]. What attracted me most is [具体的な魅力]. I believe my experience in [自分のスキル] aligns well with your [ポジション/ミッション], and I’m eager to contribute to [会社の目標].”
Q3: What are your strengths?（あなたの強みは？）
テンプレート:
“My biggest strength is [強み]. For example, at [前職], I [具体的な実績]. This resulted in [数字で示す成果]. I believe this skill would be particularly valuable in this role because [理由].”
Q4: What is your biggest weakness?（あなたの弱みは？）
テンプレート:
“I used to struggle with [弱み]. However, I’ve been actively working on it by [改善のための行動]. For example, [具体例]. I’ve seen significant improvement, and it’s become much less of an issue.”
ポイント: 「弱みはありません」はNG。本当の弱みを挙げつつ、「改善に取り組んでいる」ことを示す。

“In 5 years, I see myself [具体的なポジション/役割]. I plan to develop my skills in [分野] and take on [責任]. I believe this company offers the right environment for that growth.”

ポイント: 前職の悪口は絶対NG。ポジティブな理由（成長、新しい挑戦）で語る。
Q7: Tell me about a challenge you faced.（困難な経験を教えてください）
STAR法で答える。
“At [会社], we faced [問題/課題]. I was responsible for [自分の役割]. I decided to [取った行動]. As a result, [成果を数字で].”
Q8: What’s your expected salary?（希望年収は？）

必ず2〜3個準備しておく。
